NEIGHBORHOOD
Milan's Bocconi district extends between Viale Bligny, Viale Col di Lana, Corso San Gottardo, Via Ripamonti, Via Vittore Buzzi, and Corso di Porta Romana: it's an area pulsating with youthful energy, cultural innovation, and architectural interest.
At its heart stands the prestigious Bocconi University, an institution of excellence that has shaped the area's identity. The urban campus encompasses history, architecture, and ambition, and can also be visited via guided tours of historic buildings and contemporary projects. In recent years, the area has welcomed the new campus of the School of Management designed by the Japanese firm SANAA, a futuristic complex with sinuous volumes, student residences, a sports center with an Olympic-size swimming pool, and extensive green spaces, symbolizing a Milan focused on the future.
All around, you can glimpse charming green spaces: Bocconi Park, reminiscent of Piazza Ravizza, extending to the Parco delle Memorie and Parco della Resistenza, ideal spots for a break between studying and relaxing.
Nearby, the neighborhood is intertwined with iconic landmarks:
Porta Romana, just steps away, amplifies its atmosphere: here, the ancient military arch, cosmopolitan cafés, poké bars, and the lively Friday market tell the story of a vibrant and contemporary Milan.
Among the most authentic aperitivo spots are Fonderie Milanesi, in a green and intimate former industrial courtyard, and "La Strada," a modern cocktail bar with murals and an artistic atmosphere, as well as the intimate wine bar La Cieca.
A short distance away, the Navigli area opens up, a hub of design, clubs, and waterfront passages, perfect for romantic evenings or vintage markets.
To the west, the Monumental Cemetery reveals itself as an open-air museum of sculpture and architecture, an ideal stop for those who love art and silence.
In short
The Bocconi neighborhood is a microcosm of Milan: young people, libraries, contemporary architecture, green spaces, alternative bars, and tradition coexist in a dynamic and evocative area. From the university's history to the cutting-edge SANAA campus, from student life to the industrial design of the Fonderie Milanesi, to the gentle banks of the Navigli and the cultural heritage of the Monumentale—history is made here every day.

GET AROUND
Via Bligny 2 is located in one of Milan's most central and strategic areas, between Porta Romana and the Darsena. It's nestled in a vibrant, university-oriented neighborhood, well-served by an extremely efficient public transportation network that allows for easy travel around the city and quick access to train stations and airports.
Metro
The Porta Romana stop on the M3 (yellow) metro line is just a few meters away. This line crosses the city from south to north, connecting the area to important hubs such as the Duomo, Repubblica, Centrale FS, and Comasina. The heart of Milan is just two stops away, while in the opposite direction, Rogoredo station, where high-speed and regional trains depart for numerous destinations, is just a few minutes away.
Tram
An extensive tram network is also available in the area: the tram 9 stop (circular line) on Viale Bligny allows for easy travel around the city center, passing through Porta Romana, Porta Genova, Porta Venezia, and the Central Station. Bus line 24, which stops just steps away, directly connects Via Bligny to the historic center (Via Larga, Missori, and the Duomo) and the southeast area up to Vigentino. Tram line 15, a 5-7 minute walk away, is also useful for quickly getting to the city center and Bocconi University.
Bus
Buses complete the service with numerous lines: in particular, bus line 65 serves Via Bligny, connecting it to the Piazza Abbiategrasso and Porta Lodovica areas. During the evenings and at night, line NM3 replaces the yellow metro line, ensuring continuous connections even after the metro service closes.
New M4 line
To access line M4 (blue), Milan's newest metro infrastructure connecting the city center to Linate Airport, you can take a short ride on tram line 9 or bus to San Babila, where the M4 line intersects. Alternatively, you can access Tricolore or Dateo, both reachable in about 10-15 minutes. From here, you can hop on the M4 and reach Linate Airport in less than 15 minutes, with a direct, modern, and high-frequency connection.
Regarding the main train stations:
Milano Centrale can be reached in about 15-20 minutes via the M3 line (from Porta Romana towards Comasina), without the need to change.
Milano Rogoredo, an important railway hub for regional trains, Frecciarossa, and Italo, is about 15 minutes away, reachable via the M3 and changing to tram 24 and local buses.
Milano Porta Garibaldi can be reached in about 20-25 minutes via the M3, changing to the M2 at Centrale FS or using the circular line of tram 9.
Milano Cadorna can be reached via the M3 (to Duomo) and changing to the M1, or tram 9 to Porta Genova and the M2.
Regarding the airports:
Linate Airport is easily reached in about 25 minutes by taking the M3 subway to Duomo or San Babila, then the M4 to the terminal. This is the most direct and recommended connection.
Malpensa Airport can be reached via the M3 subway to Centrale FS or Cadorna, where the Malpensa Express departs (every 30 minutes, journey time approximately 50 minutes). Alternatively, direct shuttles are available from Milano Centrale.
Orio al Serio Airport (Bergamo) is served by a shuttle bus departing from Milano Centrale, which can be reached in just a few minutes by taking the M3 subway from Porta Romana.
In short, living or staying at Via Bligny 2 means being in a central location in Milan's urban fabric, well-connected and easily accessible from every part of the city. The combination of metro lines (M3 and rapid access to the M4), trams, buses, and direct connections to the main train stations and airports makes this area ideal for those who want to travel quickly, comfortably, and efficiently within Milan and beyond.
